An Astrograph is telescope designed especially for imaging. Mechanical tolerances are much higher than normal "visual" telescopes.

My current pride and joy is my homemade 10" Newtonian astrograph.

I wanted something that my G11 mount could handle with a faster f-ratio and a moderate focal length.

Optical Quality was key so I went for the legendary Royce Conical Mirror.

Being a Newtonian parabolic reflector, coma becomes an issue. I started with the MPCC but then upgraded to a 3" Wynne corrector .

The tube was fabricated by myself with carbon fiber and epoxy (65:35) and I am quite happy with the results. Its weighs about 11lbs and is nice and stiff. I initially ordered a spider online but wasn't happy with the stiffness so upgraded the entire secondary with stiffer parts and a DIY double vane spider.
