Observatory

With the current setup it would take an entire day or more to put everything together and fine tune them.

An observatory is essential for serious astrophotograhy as you don't waste time setting up the gear. It also protects the telescope against light, wind and the elements.

The control room is next door so the user doesn't need to sit outside in the cold.

Construction

The Current Observatory is about 3x3m (10x10ft) with insulated foam walls to minimize warm air currents and a concrete pier.

The roof is fully motorized and insulated and opens up with a flip of a switch.

The steel reinforced concrete pier is 40cm in diameter and is essential to perfect star tracking and crisp imaging.
